Georg Lukács
The Hungarian-Jewish intellectual Georg Lukács became known throughout Europe in the 20th century. He was a cultural critic, literary scholar, philosopher, Marxist, party functionary - and much more. He is known today primarily as one of the most important Marxist theorists of the 20th century. His life was synchronized with the historical 20th century - with all its caesurae and upheavals.

The Vienna address book of 1867 contains the following entry: Elias A. H. Gebrüder, türk. Großhändler, Fleischmarkt 13, Compt. Hafnersteig 5. The address book of 1900 contains the following entry: Gebrüder Elias A. H., Augustengasse 4. The Turkish wholesale company was founded at that time by Menachem H. Elias sen. The Sephardic family, originally from Salonika, had immigrated to Vienna in 1822 and was granted a wholesale license. The Vienna headquarters, however, was only one of the family's numerous enterprises.

Glove factory - Heller & Askonas
In 1875, the Viennese manufacturers Moriz Heller and Emil Askonas took over the knitting factory of Franz and Franziska Danzinger in Schrems.The family names Heller and Askonas became the company and brand name of the hosiery and glove factory " Hellas ". The sales office of the hosiery and glove factory was located in Vienna at Gonzagagasse 3. The factories themselves were located in Schrems in Lower Austria, in Asch / Czech Republic and in Györ in Hungary
