Levi Sternberg was born on 21 February 1867 in Haren. He owned a butcher shop and was head of the Jewish community. On November 11, 1938 he was humiliated and maltreated. His wife Selma died in 1940, Levy Sternberg had to move to the Jewish house at Marienstraß 4 in Lingen. On 31 July 1942 he was deported from there to the ghetto Theresienstadt where he died on 21 October 1942.

5Erich Sternberg was born on 17 März 1904 in Haren. Während der Novemberpogroms 1938 he was arrested and was imprisoned in KZ Sachsenhausen until December 17, 1938. On December 13, 1941, he was deported to the Riga Ghetto and was then in the Bromberg-Ost external labor camp of the Stutthof Concentration Camp and from August 16, 1944, in the Buchenwald Concentration Camp. There he was murdered on 1 March 1945.

Regine Sternberg was born on 29 November 1906 as Regine Frank in Altharen. On 13 December 1941 she was deported ab Hannover to the ghetto Riga and 1944 further to the concentration camp Stutthof.

Leopold Sternberg was born on 4 April 1886 in Haren. He fled to the Netherlands and was imprisoned in the transit camp Westerbork . From there he was deported on September 14, 1943 to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp and on May 24, 1944 to the Auschwitz extermination camp where he was murdered on May 27, 1944.
