In the Oststraße 50 lived since spätestens 1921 the Jewish businessman Willy (Wilhelm) Kramer (*1892) with his wife Luise Kramer (née Wolf) and their three children Gaby, Peter and Hugo. Willy Kramer was a partner and co-owner of the company „Franz Müller & Kramer“ and thus succeeded his father, who had joined the company as such in 1888. In 1937, the family lived at Bismarckstraße 50, to which Oststraße 50 was renamed in 1936. In 1938, Willy Kramer stayed in England on a business trip and caught up with his family via an escape route through Switzerland and southern France. On the flight Peter, the eldest son of Willy Kramer, changed his first name to Gordon. In England the family built up a new existence. The marriage of Willy and Luise Kramer was divorced in England. Hugo Kramer, Willy's youngest son, owned a textile machinery business in 1974. Gaby moved to New Zealand and Peter last lived in Shipley (West Yorkshire), where he died in 1980 as a result of a long illness.
