Henri James Simon was born on September 17, 1851, and was the son of wealthy merchant Isaac Simon, who prospered through the intermediate cotton trade. Despite his interests lying elsewhere, James Simon decided to follow in his father's footsteps after graduating from high school and continued the business in 1890 with his uncle Louis Simon. In 1911, James was ranked seventh in the list of millionaires in the capital of the Empire with a fortune of about 35 million marks.

Hugo Murr and his wife Frieda Sarah succeeded on 30.August 1940 still the emigration on the ship " Buenos Aires Maru " from Yokohama üvia San Pedro - California to Buenos Aires - Argentine.

The Falkenstein family originally came from Konitz in West Prussia. They moved to Gera only in 1906. The business, a textile shop of the Falkensteins was located in the 1906 newly built house at Johannisplatz 1 in Gera. The family lived in rent in Burgstraße 5. Theodor Falkenstein was a trained textile merchant and the business supported the whole family. The family had 2 children - Herbert and Anneliese. In 1938 Theodor Falkenstein, his wife Rosa Rosa and daughter Anneliese managed to escape to Melbourne in Australia. Son Herbert had already been in Melbourne since 1936.
