"The oldest Jewish cemetery was located on the Helenenberg and was officially opened in 1867, but was closed again in 1900, as it could no longer be expanded.
It was leveled during the National Socialist era.
Today there is only a memorial stone on the site.

At the end of the 18th century, Jewish reformers began to criticize the low level of schooling and the lack of teaching methods in Jewish education, which mostly took place in the private homes of the prayer leaders and shepherds. In order to raise the educational level of the Jewish population, new educational models developed in the  transition from the 18th and 19th centuries, which led to the establishment of Jewish elementary schools and the expansion of the canon of subjects, including in Walldorf.

In the Münchner address book 1922 the following entry is found; Drey Dr. Wilhelm, prakt. Arzt und Geburtshlf, Augustenstr. 40/2. Wilhelm Drey was the son of Jakob Drey from Heidingsfeld and Helene Drey, née Hamburger (Helm) from Fürth. Wilhelm Drey was born on May 25, 1873 in München. He was married to Johanna Harburger, born July 28, 1889 in München, daughter of Isaak Harburger and Helene Harburger,née,Neuburger.Wilhelm and Johanna Drey had one daughter - Marianne, born May 14, 1911 in München. Wilhelm Drey died on November 1934 in Munich.

To the old or first Jüdischen Begr bnisplatz in Bernburg is little überliefert. It lies at Kaiplatz next to the Kurhaus Bernburg on a green strip in front of a building used today (2022) as retirement home. Nothing points to this first Jewish cemetery. No gravestones have survived. - It was initially located outside the city walls and was used until 1826. In 1826 the new Jewish cemetery was inaugurated on the hill. At the end of the 19th century, the town of Bernburg planned to become a spa and health resort, which included a spa hotel (today a retirement home).

The Kibbutz Buchenwald, which had previously been located on a farm in Eggendorf in Thüringen, was a Hachscharastätte founded by 16 Üsurvivors of the Kibbutz Buchenwald on 03 June 1945. On June 26, due to the Soviet occupation, the location changed to Gehringshof in the American sector. The group was organized collectively and consisted of religious and secular, mainly German and Polish youth. Some were convinced Zionists, others were more pragmatic. Before the first group of 80 people made their aliyah to Palestine in September 1945.
