Since 1846- the presumed year of construction- the building served the small Jewish community üfor over 90 years, as a prayer and meeting house. From 1924 onwards, the Jewish community declined sharply, so that the building was sold on March 6, 1938. Since then the synagogue was used as a barn. In the night of November 9-10, 1938, SA people appeared at the synagogue and wanted to douse it with gasoline and burn it.
