At the end of the 18th century there was already a small Jewish community in Hülchrath, which apparently also operated a prayer room in Herzogstraße. The synagogue in Broichstraße was consecrated on May 1876. The synagogue in Broichstraße was consecrated on May 12, 1876. Before the forced sale of the synagogue in May 1938, almost all of the furniture was stolen by students of the so-called Reichsbauernschule in Hülchrather Schloss. Only a few Bänke übrig remained. On May 19, the building was forcibly sold to a local butcher. He severely altered the fabric of the building.
