Synagogue Stadtschlaining No information

Already at the end of the 15th century Jewish community provable; 1715 purchase of land for the construction of a synagogue; whether this location is identical with that of the present synagogue remains open. Construction of the present synagogue presumably from the 18th century; rebuilt or renovated in 1864 (by a master mason from Pinkafeld, Johann Lang); presumably the present gallery inside dates from this time; during the Nazi period the synagogue was devastated; thereafter vacant for a long time; purchased and renovated in 1988 by the Austrian Institute for Peace Research.
