Rossweide
41189 Mönchengladbach
Germany
The Jewish cemetery "Roßweide" was established in the 1840s. It replaced an older Jewish cemetery in Wickrath, the exact location of which can no longer be determined today. The burial ground also served Jews from Wickrathberg, Beckrath and Henrath as a final resting place.
The first burial took place here in 1845, the last in 1942.
The over 3000 m² large cemetery is enclosed by a brick wall. It can only be reached via a narrow, about 100 meters long access path from the Roßweide (between the houses 17 and 21). A total of 68 gravestones from the period 1847 to 1940 are preserved. The cemetery is considered closed today. He was included in August 1994 in the monument list of the city of Mönchengladbach.
.A total of three memorial stones have been placed on the cemetery grounds. One of them by the municipality, the other two from private initiatives. [HS1]
[HS1]Unfortunately I have not found when the memorial stones were set
