Curriculum vitae: "I, Bernhard Mosberg, born on February 20, 1874 in Bielefeld, studied medicine and, after many years of specialist training, settled in Bielefeld in 1902 as a specialist in orthopedics and surgery. In 1915, I became head of the orthopedic department of the Bethel Institutes. At the same time, I became head of the orthopedic institute for severely war-disabled persons in Germany and orthopedic advisor to the VIl. Armee-Stab Westfalen-Rheinland during the last war. Among the numerous invalids treated by me were many English and Allied soldiers, one of whom was an English officer who had lost both legs and who was provided with artificial limbs by my department so that he could walk again. I retained my position at Bethel until 1932 and remained in the Reich until then, although I was a convinced Jew.
.
I left Germany in 1938 due to the persecutions of the Jews. I never belonged to a political party or political organization. My wife [Rosalie], who always felt and thought the same as I did, completely broke down as a result of the political conditions and had to be admitted to a psychiatric home in Holland, where she has been for two years now. I felt compelled to leave my house and assets behind in Germany and have lost practically everything.
I have never crossed the German border again, and I have no intention of returning to Germany. I have two children. My daughter Gertrud Mosberg, MD, lives in Amsterdam as a specialist in orthopedics. My son Hermann B. Mosberg is studying in Cambridge. gez. Dr. Bernhard Mosberg" (1939)
