Wiesenstraße
17373 Ueckermünde
Germany
Already in 1821, a first cemetery had been established not far from today's memorial site, in 1867 a new, larger one was opened.
The cemetery was destroyed in 1938 and restored after 1960 as a memorial site.
Coming from the city center, follow the Chausseestraße in the direction of Ferdinandshof until shortly before the zoo, and then turn left into Liepgartener Straße in the direction of Torgelow. The third street on the left is Wiesenstra;e, on its left side, about 50 meters from the main road, is set back on a small hill the memorial for the 1938 destroyed Jewish cemetery.
On the site, surrounded by a wire mesh fence with a locked gate, a memorial stone stands opposite the entrance, behind it – lined up in front of the rürtigen fence – are or lie 12 gravestones or fragments.
