Klara Spaleck (née Eisenkraft, b. January 17, 1878) was born in the district of Wiznitz [rumän.: Vijniţa] of the Duchy of Bukovina [rumän.: Bucovina, Eng. also: Buchenland]. She left home at 16, was baptized at 18 and converted to Christianity.In Bucharest she joined the German Deaconess House "God's Faithfulness". In 1898 she left Bucharest for two years to attend a teachers' seminary in Droyß (Saxony) and then returned to Bucharest to teach. In 1903 she traveled to England for a year and in 1906 successfully passed the examination for higher education in Bielefeld. Mrs. Spaleck spoke German, Romanian, Ruthenian, Polish, Hungarian, French and English.
Before World War I she met Max Spaleck, on 17 January 1909 the wedding took place in Greiz. Their son Siegfried was born on 10 November 1909 and their daughter Elisabeth on 10 July 1913 . Since 1921 at the latest, the family lived in Greiz in the Kermannstraße 2. Max Spaleck had inherited a factory for weaving machines in Greiz from his father Otto Spaleck, who died in 1921.
After the couple moved to Kermannstraße 9, Klara Spaleck continued to be the owner of the residential house Kermannstraße 2.
