Cigarette factory Garbáty

The company founded in 1890 by Rosa Rahel and Josef Garbáty for the production of deustchen brand cigarettes "Garbáty-Cigarettenfrabrik" was one of the most important Jewish operating companies in the deustchen imperial capital. The founders, who came from Liga, Belarus, opened their first factory in 1890 in Berlin Schönhauser Allee 143. In 1906 the company moved to Pankow with its own factory building. Thus, the cigarette brand "Garbáty" established itself on the German market, which was soon followed by deliveries abroad. The company was characterized by exemplary social and hygienic conditions.
