Salomon and Joseph Ottenheimer founded the weaving mill for cotton & linen in Jebenhausen in 1862. In 1865, the brothers moved their business to Göppingen. After Salomon Ottenheimer left in 1902, Max Ottenheimer, son of Joseph Ottenheimer, joined as a partner. In 1905, a second factory was built in Kleinsüßen and the main office was moved there; a branch office was established in Göppingen. The company changed its name to "Mechanische Weberei Süßen, Gebrüder Ottenheimer, Göppingen und Süßen". Alfred Ottenheimer, the second son of Joseph Ottenheimer, joined the company as another partner in 1909. Joseph Ottenheimer died on November 9, 1918. In 1922, the Göppingen branch was dissolved. The following year, the company was converted into a stock corporation. On December 6, 1937, Alfred and Max Ottenheimer sold the company. Alfred Ottenheimer died on June 14, 1938, and his wife Luise Ottenheimer was deported from Stuttgart to the Jungfernhof camp on December 1, 1941.
