Ruth Schlesinger was born on January 26, 1921 in the Berlin district of Neukölln as the daughter of the married couple Georg and Marie-Helene Schlesinger. As the daughter of a Jewish father and a Protestant mother, she was later to be classified by the National Socialists as „half-Jüdin“. So was her brother Günter, who was born on April 10, 1924. Both, however, were raised Lutheran. At the age of six she moved with her parents to Görlitz. Here the parents had already married on September 10, 1919. The family lived in an apartment in the house at Mittelstra;e 17.

Jonas Cohn was born in 1869 in Görlitz as älteste son of the married couple Phillip Cohn (1829 Kreuzberg/Schlesien - 1879 Görlitz) and Anna Gottschalk (1846 Märkisch-Friedland - 1907 Berlin). After studies from 1888 in Leipzig, Berlin, Heidelberg and doctorate in systematic botany Berlin 1892 C. habilitated in 1897 for philosophy and pedagogy in Freiburg (Breisgau).
Avital Ben-Chorin (née Erika Fackenheim)
Avital Ben-Chorin was born February 25 1923 in Eisenach as Erika Fackenheim. She was an Israeli Hebrew teacher, translator, literary secretary and publicist. She lived and worked in Jerusalem. Together with her husband, Shalom Ben-Chorin, she was a pioneer of German-Israeli youth exchange and co-founder of the first Jewish Reform congregation in Israel. She was married to Shalom Ben-Chorin from 1943 until his death in 1999. The couple has a daughter, Ariela, who was born in 1958.

Paula Löwenstein,daughter of Jakob and Fanny Löwenstein, born on August 29, 1891 married in 1920 the merchant Dagobert Kaiser, born on December 1, 1890 in Obervorschütz, district Fritzlar. In the year of the marriage he moved to Göttingen. The couple lived at Gronerstra;e 6, where Dagobert Kaiser´s men's wardrobe and manufactory shop was located.Daughter Liselotte Kaiser saw the light of day on January 11, 1923. In 1938 the whole family emigrated to the USA.
