Lothar Nartelski was born in Berlin on April 30, 1920, the son of Jakob Nartelski and his wife Käte, née Spicker. His brothers were Günther and Werner. In 1939 he lived with his mother at Regensburgerstraße 2. His father Jacob had probably already emigrated to the USA at that time, his mother Käte was still able to follow him. His brother Werner also emigrated to the USA. After Lothar Nartelski was arrested on March 8, 1943, he was deported on April 19, 1943 with the 37th Osttransport to Auschwitz, where he performed forced labor.
