Panofsky, Erich

The Bänker Erich Otto Panofsky was born on 07.08.1894 in Berlin. His parents were Rudolf Panofsky and his non-Jewish wife Bertha Panschow. Erich was married to Lotte Schlesinger, they had two daughters, Ursula and Liselotte. Awarded several medals in World War I (including EK I and II), 1918 because of a shot amputation of the right lower leg.
On April 19, 1943, the deportation took place together with his wife Lotte and daughter Liselotte first to Theresienstadt and on October 28, 1944 to Auschwitz. Erich and his wife were both murdered in Auschwitz. The daughter Liselotte üsurvived and emigrated after the war to Palästina, where her sister already lived.
