Residential and commercial building of the Freilich family

From 1925 to 1942 the Freilich family lived here: the couple Bernhard and Sophie (née Gelobter) and the children Felix (until 1936), Sala (until 1938) and Max (until 1938). From 1924 until the "Aryanization" in 1938, Bernhard Breilich had his store for hides, skins, game goods, pictures (1925-1930) and fur goods (from 1930) here. According to historian Christian Repkewitz, the Freilichs did not lose their apartment in the course of the "Aryanization", but they exchanged the apartment with the owner of the house at Posener Straße 5, where they lived until their deportation in 1943. 

In addition, from 1938 to 1942 the Sternberg family, who fled Meuselwitz after the Pogrom Night, lived in this house.
