Judaism in Dresden

Judaism has a long tradition in Dresden, which dates back in written form to the beginning of the city's history in the 13th century. Since a Jewish merchant roamed the Dresden region as early as the 9th century, it can be assumed that Jews were already living in Dresden when the city was founded in the 12th century.
