D., Wilmersdorf, Motzstr.87 - The following entry can be found in the 1931/32 edition of the Jüdisches Adressbuch für Gross-Berlin: Schnitzer Manuel, Wilmersdorf, Aschaffenburger Str. 6. - Manuel ( Emanuel ) Schnitzer was born on February 12, 1861 in Andrychau, Galicia. His father was a merchant. After attending grammar schools in Oels and Bielitz, Manuel Schnitzer studied law (Jus - Jura) at the University of Vienna from 1881–85 and then worked as a court reporter.From 1888–91 he was editor in charge of „Wiener Mode“ and in 1890–91 also of „Nowe Mody“, in 1891 übersiedelt Manuel Schnitzer to Berlin.Until his retirement in 1927, he worked for the „Berliner Börsen-Courier“ and the „Berliner Lokal-Anzeiger“. In addition to the journalist Manuel Schnitzer, there was also the writer Manuel Schnitzer ( pseudonyms - M. Nuél, Hans Baldrian, Pieterjann ), who was appreciated for his novellas, novels, essays, poems and other texts as a high-quality humorous writer with warmth of heart and careful portrayals, as evidenced by numerous new editions of his works. Manuel Schnitzer died in Berlin on April 11, 1941 at the age of 80.
