Henryk, called Henios ( Heinrich ) Rabinowicz was born in Warsaw on August 27, 1872. His parents were the businessman and bank procurator David Rabinowicz (1830-1907) and his wife Regina Studencka (1862-1918). Henryk ( Heinrich ) was the youngest of six children. Before he began his studies at the Royal Technical University of Hanover and the Braunschweig Technical University, he did two years of military service in the Russian army at the age of nineteen. Only then did he receive permission to leave for Germany. On July 12, 1899, he passed his diploma examinations in electrical engineering in Hanover. He graduated as an engineer on December 20, 1902. Henryk Rabinowicz was married to Sabina, née Benzef. The wedding took place on January 2, 1900 in Warsaw at the registrar of new Christian denominations. The couple had three children - Irena, born on September 22, 1900, Georg, born on October 21, 1901 and Helena, born on December 4, 1905. As a result of the addition to the family, the family moved to a somewhat larger apartment at Franziskastraße 3 in Köln-Nippes in 1906. Henryk and Irena converted to Protestantism during this time and their daughter Irena was baptized in the Protestant church and parish in Cöln on 27 September 1905. The job-related move to Helbersdorf near Chemnitz in 1908 was followed by several more moves within Chemnitz over the years, most recently to Kurze Stra e 1 from 1913 to 1916. On March 11, 1916, Heinrich Rabinowicz moved to Niedersedlitz, a suburb of Dresden, for work reasons in order to accept the position of chief engineer offered by the local Sachsenwerk plant. In addition to his work in industry, Henryk Rabinowicz pursued other business and development activities. There is a last entry in the Dresden address book in 1936: Rabinowicz Heinrich, Dipl.-Ing., Handlung mit Projektionsappar.- und Lichtbildern, Albrechtstr. 3 III.
