The youngest son of Alexander Eberhardt (1807-71), the cattle and horse dealer Simon Eberhardt (1852-1915), attended the newly founded Jewish elementary school in Maßbach, where he was taught by Hirsch Goldstein. In March 1873, the 21-year-old was accepted into the Maßbach gymnastics club by twelve votes to four. In 1876, the unmarried cattle dealer Simon Eberhardt bought the property at HN.84 from Johann Knieß. He then ran his cattle and horse business from here. At the end of January, he received permission from the Kissingen Royal District Office to marry Sofie Goldstein (1856-1935) from Burgpreppach, the daughter of the master builder Aron Moses Goldstein and his wife Regine (Rechele) Brill. Two weeks later, he said "I do" to his wife on February 10, 1879. Just one year later, their only son Siegfried (1880-85) was born on February 8, 1880, but he died just five years after his birth on March 21, 1885 and was buried in the Kleinbardorf Jewish cemetery. He was to remain their only child. Perhaps this is why they sold part of their property, the garden, to the merchant Bernhardt Schwarzenberger. He built the large brick house with the HN.83 ½, known today as the Urbansky Bakery, on it in 1886. Simon Eberhardt was still registered as a cattle dealer in 1911, but died on July 4, 1915 at the age of 63 years and 3 months. Like his wife, who was to survive him by 20 years and died on August 10, 1935 (presumably in hospital, as there is no death record in Maübach), he was buried in the Jewish cemetery.
The widow Sophie Eberhardt then acquired her HN. 84 to set up workers' apartments there. Mr. Schwarzenberger, who had bought the garden from Sophie, gave her the right to live in the house built there. The modest woman, who was content with a sandwich and a cup of tea, lived here and was affectionately called „Aunt Sophie“ by everyone.
