Joseph Eberhardt (1794-1849), who earned his living as Salomon Weikersheimer in Maßbach, apparently as a peddler. When the Jewish community in Efringen-Kir-chen near Lörrach was looking for a new teacher for the Israelite religious school in 1878, who also held the office of schoolmaster and prayer leader, he applied and moved there with his family in 1879. However, he only carried out this activity there until 1881. In April 1836, he founded a family of five children with Gidel Lippmann (1804-77) from Zeilitzheim: Karoline (*1836), Dorothee (*1837), Jette Judith (1839-1840), Sara (*1841) and Mischa (*1845). He died on October 4, 1849 in Maßbach, his wife on November 24, 1877. His daughter Sara Eberhardt married Salomon Weikersheimer (*1846) from Wiesenbronn under the chuppah in November 1869. The couple had four children, Josef (*1870), Clara (*1872), Bertha (*1874) and Samuel (*1878), who were all born in Maßbach, where the family lived in house no. 160. Salomon Weikersheimer apparently earned a living for himself and his family as a peddler in Maßbach. When the Jewish community in Efringen-Kir-chen near Lörrach was looking for a new teacher for the Israelite religious school in 1878, who also held the office of schoolmaster and prayer leader, he applied and moved there with his family in 1879.
