Holiday home of the Verein "Ferienkolonien für jüdische Kinder", named after its long-standing chairman Adolph Mayer. From 1908, up to 100 Berlin children were accommodated here for their summer vacation. The house was located on a hill not far from the sea, close to the forest, somewhat away from the actual bathing life. In addition to the fresh sea air, excursions to Heringsdorf, Swinouml;nde or Rügen were part of the vacation program. A small library with reading and song books kept the children occupied even on rainy days. The children were able to relax carefree on the beach and in the forest.
In 1935, the children and their supervisors had to flee: „Misdroy to be free of Jews – Demonstration of the population and bathers – Departure of the Jews“ was the headline in the Pomeranian newspaper on 25 July 1935. An outraged crowd marched through the city singing anti-Semitic songs and carrying banners with the words "Jews! We give you another 24 hours!" and placed signs on boarding houses with Jewish guests that read: "Here lives a traitor to our world view.“ Then it also went in front of the Jewish children's home – allegedly „disciplined and decent“, according to the author. The directors of the Adolph Mayer home had to declare that they would clear the house the next day.
