Sigmund Glesinger was born on December 6, 1863 in Ostrau, Saalkreis in Saxony-Anhalt. His parents were Joseph Philipp Glesinger, born on March 2, 1838, and his wife Charlotte, née Ripper, born on April 6, 1840. Sigmund Glesinger was married to Maria Glesinger, née Frank, born on October 28, 1896 in Cologne. The couple had two children - Max Glesinger, born on August 19, 1907 in Vienna and Edith Glesinger, born on December 25, 1905 in Vienna, married to the Viennese silk manufacturer Guido Kurt Fischel. Siegmund Glesinger and his wife were living in Vienna at Rathausstra e 7 in 1938 and were Czechoslovakian citizens at the time. In June 1938, Siegmund Glesinger managed to flee from the National Socialists via France to the USA. In 1941, the entire lying and standing assets of Siegmund Glesinger and his wife Maria „were confiscated with the aim of later confiscation in favor of the German Reich“. The revocation of the couple's Protectorate status took place on February 4, 1942. Sigmund Glesinger died in Los Angeles on May 16, 1941. Max Glesinger fled to England via Switzerland and France in 1938. Edith and Guido Kurt Fischel also managed to flee to the USA in 1938.
