The city's address book from 1915 contains the following entry: Löwenherz Ephraim, Kurzw.-Handlung, Sendlingerstr.30/3 I A. Store 75,  Fil. Kapuzinerstr.35 u. Vict. Scheffelstr.22. - Ephraim Emil Löwenherz  was born on July 12, 1877 in Zaleszczyki / Galicia in the Ukraine. His parents were Isidor L wenherz, a merchant in Zaleszczyki and  Rosa L wenherz, née Goldschmid. He was married to Ernestine (Dina, Tina) Löwenherz, née Friediger, born on April 22, 1878 in Beuthen, Upper Silesia in Poland. Her parents were Hirsch Friediger, a merchant in Munich, and Rosa Friediger, née Limkovsky. Ephraim and Ernestine Löwenherz had a daughter -  Emma, born on May 15, 1905 in Munich.  Since March 28, 1924, Ephraim Löwenherz ran a wholesale business in haberdashery, white goods and woolen goods in his house at Damenstiftstra e 7. Two employees were also employed there. This business was deregistered on October 27, 1938. Ephraim Löwenherz was arrested in February 1940, had the prisoner number 3666 and was murdered in the Buchenwald concentration camp on July 22, 1940. Ernestine Löwenherz was deported from Munich to Warsaw (ghetto) or Auschwitz on July 13, 1942 and murdered. Her place of death is unknown. In 1928, daughter Emma married Erwin Goldfarb, a goldsmith born in Munich on September 1, 1906, who worked as a commercial clerk for Ephraim Löwenherz. The Goldfarb couple emigrated to New York in December 1938. Emma Goldfarb died in March 1995 in Putnam, New York.
