Selma Blumann, born on July 16, 1882 in Tostedt, murdered on November 15, 1942 in the Theresienstadt concentration camp.
Selma Blumann, a daughter of Moses Blumann, was unmarried. She was deported from Berlin to Theresienstadt on August 6, 1942 on an „old-age transport“ (transport I/39 number 3217).
Elise Sandell, née Blumann, set out to find her older sister Selma after the end of the war. Elise had married Edward Sandell from London in 1933 and emigrated from Great Britain to the USA in 1938. From there, she made several attempts to locate her sister, from whom she had last received a letter in July 1942. It was not until 1947 that she received the news that her sister had been murdered in the Theresienstadt concentration camp on November 15, 1942. Selma Blumann's death certificate states the cause of death as pneumonia.
