Nobert Rosenfeld was born in Munich on August 26, 1879. His parents were the Munich merchant Salomon Sigmund Rosenfeld and Karoline Rosenfeld, née Kaufmann. After attending secondary school in Munich, Norbert Rosenfeld spent about two years in France and two years working in the USA. With the rank of non-commissioned officer, he fought for Germany in the First World War. On July 25, 1911, Norbert Rosenfeld married Katharina Moller, born on July 15, 1889 in Hadersleben, district of Schleswig, in Oberhaching. The couple had two children - Helga, born on 01.02.1913 in Munich and Erwin, born on 20.05.1911 in Furth, Gde. Oberhaching. After the divorce, the children lived with their mother. From October 10, 1907, Norbert Rosenfeld and his brother-in-law Ignaz Waitzfelder were partners in the Rosenfeld & Co. company, a wholesaler of silk, velvet and cotton goods at 22 Kaufingerstrasse, latterly 8/I Fürstenfelder Strasse. On 29.12.1938 the business was deregistered for 10.11.1938. Norbert Rosenfeld was deported on August 13, 1942 with Transport II/24 to Theresienstadt and on October 23, 1944 with Transport Et to Auschwitz. There his trace is lost. -Ignaz Isaak Waitzfelder was born on February 3, 1871 in Mönchsdeggingen in the Ries. His parents were David Waitzfelder, a merchant in Augsburg, and Karolina Waitzfelder, née Blumgart, in Munich. Ignaz Waitzfelder married Elsa Rosenfeld, Norbert Rosenfeld's sister, born on February 10, 1878 in Munich, on March 22, 1900. The couple had three children: - David Otto, born on April 22, 1901 in Munich, - Theres Rosa, born on December 3, 1902 in Munich, - Irma Isa, born on October 5, 1905 in Munich. Ignaz Waitzfelder died on April 21, 1938 in Munich. His wife Elsa emigrated to Cambridge (perhaps with her sister-in-law Maria Silberthau). Elsa Waitzfelder died on December 20, 1971 in San Francisco.
