Franziska Bruck was a floral artist and revolutionized the craft of flower arranging in Germany. In 1912, she founded a school for flower arranging at Potsdamer Straße 31A in Berlin under the name: Franziska Bruck. School for Floral Decoration. Her courses were aimed at "professional dressmakers, gardeners, teachers at technical and girls' schools, artists and women working in the home" (from an information brochure). Her floral art was highly praised in various magazines on art and handicrafts (Deutsche Kunst und Dekoration, Berliner Leben and Dekorative Kunst). She received numerous prizes.
She had to stop teaching in 1919 due to economic difficulties. There was a lack of "coal, floral material and support staff", she wrote in a letter to the Provinzial-Schulkollegium on July 12, 1927. At this time, she was already planning to re-establish the school at Bleibtreustraße 42, which took place in November 1927. The school was given the addition: "Private school".
On March 15, 1933, Franziska Bruck informed the school authorities that she wanted to continue running her school at Lützowstraße 46. In June 1933, Franziska Bruck was asked to close her school.
