Siegmund Kohn (born 1874 in Zahrawitz) had lived in Schöna since August 1922 and worked in the Brach tät family's Elbschloss Malzfabrik". In June 1923, Julie Kohn (Kohnova) (birth name unknown; born 1877 in Petrowitz), who was married to Siegmund Kohn, and their son Ernst (born 1903 in Kajlovec) also moved to Schöna. The family lived in an apartment in the malt factory. The Kohn family were Czechoslovakian citizens.

Ernst Kohn, who worked as a commercial clerk and laboratory assistant, was married to Ella Kohn (Kohnova) (née Bounaventur; born in Vienna in 1903). 1903 in Vienna), who had been living with him in Schöna since the end of February 1930.

After Alfred Brach was expelled from the territory of the German Reich at the beginning of May 1935 for alleged foreign currency violations, Siegmund Kohn took over the management of the malt factory. This activity probably ended at the beginning of 1938, when the Kohn family presumably left the town due to the ever-increasing anti-Semitic terror, which they initially succeeded in doing. In November 1938, the factory was forcibly sold to the entrepreneurs Kwasny and Damm.

On March 15, 1939, the Wehrmacht invaded the territories of Czechoslovakia, meaning that the Kohn family were once again exposed to anti-Semitism and persecution by the Germans and their Czech collaborators. The Kohn family was deported from Olomouc to the Theresienstadt ghetto on July 4, 1942, along with 900 other Jews.

From there, Ella Kohnova and Ernst Kohn were deported to the White Russian town of Baranovichi on July 28, 1942. Ella and Ernst Kohn were murdered during this transport.

Julie Kohn (Kohnova) was murdered in the Theresienstadt ghetto on March 16, 1943.

Siegmund Kohn was deported from Theresienstadt to Auschwitz on December 15, 1943, along with almost 2,500 other Jews. The date of Siegmund Kohn's death is not known.
