Martin Pauson was born on June 8, 1861 in Redwitz. His parents were the basket maker Salomon Pauson (1809-1869) and Rosa Pauson, née Bannemann. Max Pauson had four more brothers - Adolph, born on September 7, 1846, Pankratz, born in 1852, Max, born in 1858 and Hermann. Martin was the youngest of the five sons. On May 21, 1888 Martin Pauson married Ida Pauson, née Aufseeßer, born on September 22, 1865 in Haßfurt in Nürnberg. The couple had a daughter - Cornelia (Nelly) born on October 25, 1893 in München. In 1880 Martin Pauson moved to München and in 1884 registered a "porcelain and glassware shop with porcelain painting and pewter foundry" at Neuhauser Straße 5 as a business. In addition to his artistically refined beer mugs, he also sold kitchen furniture, household items, porcelain services, tableware, lead crystal and glassware of all kinds and put together wedding trousseaus. In 1906, he took Hugo Aufseeßer, his wife's younger brother, into his business as a partner. Martin Pauson died in Munich on October 21, 1934. Hugo Aufseeßer then continued to run the business until its Aryanization in 1938. His wife Ida was deported to Theresienstadt together with her sister Klothilde Neuburger on June 18, 1942. According to the death certificate issued by the Council of Elders, Ida Pauson died on November 24, 1942 at 9.30 a.m. in room 07/building Q 610, of old age. Cornelia (Nelly) Pauson married the lawyer Dr. Kurt Mosbacher in 1920. In 1939, the Mosbacher couple emigrated via England to Los Angeles, California. Hugo Aufsee er emigrated with his wife Paula, née Mosbacher in March 1939 to Cambrigde, England, to join their daughter Herta and her husband David Daube and grandson Jonathan.
