Georg Engländer. - The following entry can be found in the company and business directory in the division: Currentwarenhändler - Engländer H. & Söhne, k.k.priv. Großhdl., Zelinkag.1Hermann Engländer was born on August 7, 1799 in Kolin,Judengasse 34  He was married to Marie Engländer, née Boskowitz.The couple had 4 children - Carl, born around 1829,Moritz, born November 21, 1830,Emrich, born 8.March 1832 in Budapest and Berta, born around 1833 - died on June 21, 1836, buried in Pest.Hermann Engländler advertised in the local press in 1843 for his newly opened grocery store in Pesth.He died on November 17, 1873 in Vienna, Wollzeile.Carl Engländer was married to Emma Bischitz de Heves, born around 1846 in Sárbogárd,(Hungary), daughter of Rabbi David Bischitz de Heves and Hannah Bischitz de Heves, née Fuchs. Carl and Emma Engländer had 2 children - Paul, born April 14, 1868 in Budapest and Else, married name Kuranda, born July 4, 1870 in Vienna.Carl Engländer was vice president of the Association of Traveling Merchants, a member of the board of the Baroness Hirsch Foundation and bore the title " Kaiserl. He died on July 7, 1913 in Bad Ischl and found his final resting place in the Israeli section of the central cemetery. Emrich Engländer was married to Marie Boscowitz.Moritz Engländer was married to Pauline, née Schweineburg, born November 3, 1837 in Vienna.The couple had 5 children - Peter, artist's name Altenberg, born on March 9, 1859 in Vienna, Marie, married name Mauthner, born April 9, 1861 in Vienna, Georg, born April 3, 1862 in Vienna, Paul, born April 14, 1860 and Margarethe, born October 21, 1873 in Vienna - murdered in 1942 in the Treblinka concentration camp.
