The Jewish ritual bath, which had long been installed in the cellar of the semi-detached house (plan no. 159, today Poppenlauerer Straße 5), had to be renovated by order of the government in 1825 and was fitted with a boiler. In 1878, repairs were needed again, this time to the chimney, but due to a dispute with the owner of the house, they could not be carried out until 1882.
In the first decades of the 20th century, the religious community continued to shrink and by 1925 there were only 33 members. As the community's income fell sharply along with the number of members, it became increasingly difficult to finance the necessary building projects and repairs. The purchase of the new school building in 1895 had also resulted in a large debt burden. In 1902, a new ritual bath had to be built on the site of the school building (house no. 161).
