On April 4, 1860, Rudolf Schlossberger was born in Hollenbach near Bad Mergentheim, where he attended secondary school in Heilbronn at the age of 12, followed by a three-year apprenticeship in Bad Mergentheim in the manufacturing business of A. Sussmann and then worked in Wertheim. At the age of 21 he was traveling from Berlin as a representative of the ladies' clothing company J.M.Meyer. From 1882 to 1888 Rudolf Schlossberger then worked in the iron business of his brother Max Schlossberger in Bad Mergentheim. On August 19, 1889, Rudolf Schlossberger married Mathilde Neter, born on February 23, 1868 in Gernsbach.Mathilde's father was Eli Neter, an ironmonger in Gernsbach.Rudolf and Mathilde had three children - Max, born in 1890, - Over the years, Rudolf Schlossberger was able to acquire a building at Holzmarkt 6, a warehouse at Seilersbahn 2, a field and a vineyard.In 1915, the Israel community of Bruchsal elected him chairman. He was a member of the Israel. He was a member of the Israel Synod of Baden and a board member of the Israel Orphans' Association of Baden for 16 years. On March 28, 1925, Rudolf Schlossberger died of a stroke.After the death of his father, Max Schlossberger took over the business, but his brother Otto also had to drop out of his electrical engineering studies at the Technical University in Stuttgart to be with their mother and work in the business.Anna Schlossberger had been married to the cigarette manufacturer Ludwig Strausslig in Bad Cannstatt since 1920. After Hitler came to power, business was slow.In 1935, he decided to sell the business and leave Germany.Anna emigrated with her family to the USA. Otto and his wife emigrated to South Africa and Max and his wife to Luxembourg in 1937.Mathilde Schlossberger was deported to Theresienstadt on August 22, 1942 and died there on January 1, 1943.
