The Stuttgart address book from 1920 contains the following entries for Albert Flegenheimer and the address Friedrichstr.18: Flegenheimer Alfred, merchant, Friedrichstr.18/1 - Flegenheimer Eugen, Dr.jur, lawyer, Friedrichstr.18/1, Büro Friedrichstr.13/2 - Flegenheimer Joseph, merchant, Hofl, Am Bismarkturm 57, Getreideagentur Friedrichstr.18 Eg - Albert Flegenheimer was born on July 4, 1890 in Schwäbisch Hall. His parents were Samuel Flegenheimer, born on August 21, 1848 in Tairnbach and Lisette Rothschild, born in 1861. Samuel Flegenheimer emigrated to the USA in 1864 at the age of 16 and acquired American citizenship in Pennsylvania in 1873. However, he returned to Germany as early as 1874 and settled in Schwäbisch Hall. He was married there three times (Lisette Rothschild; Erna Maier and Hanchen Goldstein). Albert Flegenheimer was also born in Schwäbisch Hall. From 1931 to 1936, Albert Flegenheimer was a member of the Management Board of Südzucker-AG. Other family members were also represented on the Supervisory Board - Dr. Eugen Flegenheimer, lawyer, Stuttgart, - Isidor Flegenheimer, businessman, Heilbronn, - Josef Flegenheimer, businessman, Stuttgart, - Moses Flegenheimer, factory owner, Stuttgart. When the National Socialists came to power, the Flegenheimer family was forced out of the company at their instigation. Albert Flegenheimer fled to New York via Milan - but returned to the company's Supervisory Board after 1945.
