Albert Harburger was born in 1871. On April 4, 1922, he married Johanna Rosenthal, born on January 15, 1887 in Beerfelden in the Odenwald in Stuttgart. The couple had a son - Kurt Siegfried, born in 1923. Albert Harburger was a freelance salesman for the company Ludwig Povel & Co in Nordhorn. He lost his job as early as 1935 due to his Jewish ancestry. Since their marriage, the family lived in Stuttgart at Halpertstrasse 105 for rent. In 1936, Albert Harburger purchased a plot of land opposite the apartment at Falkertstra<e 88 and built a two-storey house on it. However, Albert Harburger died on December 18, 1936 and did not live to see the move into the newly built house. Johanna Harburger and 13-year-old Kurt Siegfried were on their own when they moved into their new home. In 1937, Johanna Harburger's mother Sophie Rosenthal moved from Beerfelden to live with her daughter in Stuttgart at Falkertstra e 88. She officially moved to Stuttgart in 1940. Kurt Harburger emigrated to England in March 1938, completed his schooling there with the support of American relatives and emigrated to the USA in 1946 to complete his vocational training. As part of the aim to make the cities free of Jews, Johanna Harburger and her mother Sophie Rosenthal were relocated to the Jewish retirement home in Weiüenstein. Sophie Rosenthal had to make another move to Dellmensingen near Ulm. Johanna Harburger was deported from Stuttgart main station to Riga on December 1, 1941 and murdered there on March 26, 1942. Sophie Rosenthal was deported from the collection camp on the Killesberg to Theresienstadt on August 22, 1942 and died there on September 9, 1942.
