White, wool and hosiery, shirt and apron factory - Merzbacher & Schulhöfer

Maier Merzbacher (Dec.1862-12.1.1942) and Anton Schulhöfer were co-owners of the  white, wool and hosiery, shirt and apron factory " Merzbacher & Schulhöfer ". Anton Schulhöfer was born in Buttenheim on  February 12, 1869. In 1893 he moved from Buttenheim to Nuremberg. On November 9, 1899, Anton Schulhuber married Selma Baum from Nuremberg. The couple had two children - Edith, born on December 24, 1900 in Nuremberg and Franz Ludwig, born on September 27, 1905. Anton Schulhüml;fer died on February 3, 1935. Edith Schulhüml;fer left Germany in the summer of 1933 and moved to Lyon. Franz Ludwig Schulhöfer also brought himself, his wife Käthe, née Teutsch and their young daughter to a safe haven abroad via Milan in April 1934. In February 1939, the siblings managed to bring their mother, Selma Schulhüml;fer, to join them.
