The Stuttgart address book 1930 contains the following entry: Heilbronner Edgar, specialist in surgery and orthopaedics, Schloßstraße 12A - private residence Am Kräherwald 203/1. - Edgar Jakob Heilbronner was born in Stuttgart on July 19, 1890. After studying medicine at the Universities of Munich, Berlin and Freiburg and passing his medical examination in 1913, Edgar Heilbronner successfully completed his doctorate at the University of Freiburg in 1915. In the following years, he was an assistant doctor at the hospitals in Bad Cannstatt and Darmstadt and at the universities in Munich and Frankfurt/Main. On 9 March 1922, Dr. Edgar Heilbronner married Anna Rothschild, who was born in Cannstatt on 6 February 1894 and worked as an assistant doctor at the municipal hospital in Bad Cannstatt after completing her medical studies. The couple had three children - Lore, born in 1923, Gerhard, born on September 2, 1926 and Hans Isaak, born on March 11, 1931. In 1923, Dr. Edgar Heilbronner set up his own practice as an orthopaedic surgeon in Stuttgart. His wife Anna worked in the practice as a general practitioner and surgeon and assisted him during operations, for example. After Dr. Edgar Heilbronner's health insurance license was revoked in 1933 and his wife Dr. Anna Heilbronner was not granted a health insurance license, the family decided to emigrate to Palestine in 1933. Dr. Edgar Heilbronner fled to Palestine in August 1933, his wife Dr. Anna Heilbronner followed in November with their children.
