The following entry can be found in the memorial book "Weg und Schicksal der Stuttgarter Juden": Oskar Weinschel, cigar factory, consul of Panama, Militärstr. 68. - Yehiel Duvdevani was a Zionist activist and politician. He was born in 1896 in the Volhynia region of the Russian Empire (now in Ukraine) and attended high school in Kiev before spending a year at university. He joined the Al-HaMishmar movement, which became Dror. In 1923 he made aliyah to the Mandate of Palestine and two years later was one of the founders of the kibbutz Givat HaShlosha. He became secretary of the Petah Tikva Workers Council. During the Second World War, he joined the Jewish Brigade. Before the 1949 elections, he was nineteenth on the Mapai list and was elected when the party won 46 seats. However, he did not stand for re-election in 1951. In 1952, Duvdevani was one of the founders of Kibbutz Einat, which was made up of former Givat HaShlosha and Ramat HaKovesh members who had left the HaKibbutz HaMeuhad movement. He later served as managing director of Mekorot between 1954 and 1964 and was also chairman of the board from 1962 to 1964. Yehiel Duvdevani died in April 1988.
