Siegried Kahn was born in Darmstadt on May 7, 1886. His parents were the leather merchant Isaak Kahn and Klara Kahn, née Hellmann. Siegfried Kahn had four other siblings - Julius, born in 1878, Selma, born in 1880, Frieda, born in 1891 and Helene, born in 1892 - and his father Isaak Kahn died very early on May 25, 1893, three days before his 46th birthday. The widowed Klara Kahn presumably moved to Karlsruhe with the youngest children in 1904. Siegried Kahn studied medicine in Munich and realized his early dream of becoming a doctor. He was awarded the EK II and the Bavarian Order of Merit for his commitment and services as a staff doctor and senior physician during the First World War. From April 1920 to 1930, Dr. Siegfried Kahn practiced as a senior physician at the sanatorium "Esplanade" during the spa season in the summer months. From March 1930 to July 1934, he worked there all year round as a senior physician. In September 1925 he married his wife Paula, née Billigheimer, daughter of the Munich factory owner Julius Billigheimer and Jenny Billigheimer, née Nordschild. Like Siegfried, Paula was an academic with a doctorate - Dr.rer. pol. The marriage of Siegfried and Paula Kahn remained childless. Paula Kahn died on July 22, 1933 in Würzburg at the age of 40. Siegfried's mother Klara Kahn died in Karlsruhe in November 1933. In July 1934, Dr. Siegried Kahn left Bad Kissingen and moved to Karlsruhe. There, health reasons soon forced him to retire. Even the 4 years of war service for Germany and the awards he received could not prevent him from being denied his "Aryan" domestic servant status. In March 1939, shortly before the start of the war, Dr. Siegfried Kahn managed to flee to the Netherlands, where his older brother Julius, who married a Dutch woman in 1908, had apparently been living in Amsterdam since 1920. Dr. Siegfried Kahn probably managed to go into hiding. He died on March 19, 1955 in Amsterdam.
