The address book of the city of Munich from 1901 contains the following entry: Degginger & Heß, Holzhandlung, ( owner Benjamin Degginger and Emil Heß ) Comptoir Landsbergerstraße 61, Detail-Lager Landsbergerstraße 82, Engros-Lager Westendstraße 167. - Degginger Benjamin (Degginger & Heß) Merchant, Göthestr. 52, from April 1, 1901 Lessingstr.6.- Heß Emil, merchant, (Degginger & Heß), Uhlandstr.2Benjamin Degginger and Emil Heß were the owners of the timber wholesaler "Degginger & Heß AG" in Schwanthalerstraße 73, with a city warehouse in Landsberger Straße 82 and a collection warehouse in Westendstraße 167. - Benjamin Degginger was born on September 26, 1852 in Lauffen ob Rottweil. He was married to Fanny Boas, born on May 29, 1859 in Minden, daughter of Aaron and Emilie Boas, née Löwenbaum. The couple had five children - Gertrud, born on July 3, 1884 in München,- Lily, born on December 2, 1885 in München,- Fritz, born on May 10, 1889 in München,- Edith, born on October 10, 1892 in München,- Helene ("Leni"), born on April 23, 1894 in München. Gertrud married the merchant Ernst Benjamin Reichenbach on June 14, 1905 in Munich. The couple lived in St. Gallen. Lily and Fritz Degginger died on November 14, 1891 in Munich. Edith's first marriage was to the lawyer Dr. Leo Fromm (born 16.07.1883 Augsburg, killed in action on 27.07.1916 near St. Mihiel, France), her second marriage was to Karl Frank. Leo and Edith Fromm's daughter emigrated to Paris. She was murdered in Auschwitz with her daughter, who was not yet one year old. Edith Frank emigrated to Siddney. Helene married a brother of Dr. Leo Fromm, the hop wholesaler Heinrich Fromm. The couple emigrated to England in the summer of 1939. Benjamin Degginger died in Munich on December 12, 1931. Until his death, he was a partner of the Münchner Kammerspiele since its foundation by his son-in-law Dr. Leo Fromm. Fanny Degginger died on September 24, 1935 in Munich.
