The master tanner and leather merchant Leopold Oppenheimer was born in Feuchtwangen on July 20, 1858. He was married to Karolina Silbermann, who was born in Walsdorf on October 25, 1864. The couple had two children - Betthy, born on March 16, 1889 Feuchtwangen, married to the brush manufacturer Steindecker in Bechhofen an der Heide, owner of the local brush factory Marx Schloß. Betthy was deported from Nürnberg and is considered missing in the Izbica transit camp, - Max, born on June 15, 1895 in Feuchtwangen, Max Oppenheimer died as a private in the 3rd Infantry Regiment 23 on January 20, 1915 in the fortress hospital Montigny near Metz (France).
