Adolf Heidemann was born on August 15, 1887 in Osterholz-Scharmbeck.
He was a bank clerk and married Therese Senior, born on June 5, 1891 in Halberstadt, in 1919. Their only daughter Ruth was also born there in 1920.
The family came to Stade in 1922, initially living at Bungenstra e 19 and moving into a spacious apartment at Bremerv rder Stra e 31 in 1932.
Daughter Ruth was the only Jewish pupil to attend the Oberlyzeum (girls' grammar school, now the Vincent-Lübeck-Gymnasium), which she had to leave in 1936 due to the hostility towards members of the Jewish minority in Stade. She managed to escape to England in August 1939.
Adolf and Therese Heidemann moved to Hamburg in May 1939, where they waited in vain to emigrate to the USA.
On December 6, 1941, they were deported to Riga and shot there.
