Emil Haimann was born in Munich in 1880. His parents were Albert Haimann, born on March 29, 1849 in Bad Buchau, and his wife Clarissa Nordmann, born on October 31, 1853 in Geneva. Emil Haimann had three more brothers - Julius, born on June 11, 1874 in Munich, Paul Hugo, born on November 3, 1876 in Munich and Robert, born in 1878 in Munich. Albert Haimann was a silk wholesaler in Munich. The same address, Maximilliansplatz 12, was also the address of the "Seidenhaus J. Haimann, Groß- und Einzelhandel mit Samt, Seide und einschlägigen Artikeln ", whose later owner Paul Hugo Haimann became. The rest of Emil Haimann's life is lost in obscurity, as is the life of his brother Robert Haimann. Brother Julius Haimann studied at the Königlich Bayerische Technische Hochschule in Munich and became an engineer. He died in Luxembourg on June 3, 1934. Paul Hugo Haimann, owner of the " Seidenhaus J. Haimann " was also a sworn expert for silk, velvet and plush fabrics. He died in Munich on February 13, 1940. His wife Lina Haimann, née Bach, was deported from Munich to Kaunas (Kovno) on November 20, 1941 and murdered there on November 25, 1942. Emil Haimann died in Milan in 1940. His brother Robert also died in Milan in 1941.
