Marianne Landau was born Marianne Olga Ehrlich on January 23, 1886 in Berlin. Her parents were the physician, researcher and later Nobel Prize winner Paul Ehrlich and his wife Hedwig, née Pinkus. Marianne Olga Ehrlich was married to the mathematician Edmund Georg Hermann Yehezkel Landau, born on February 14, 1877 in Berlin. His parents were gynecologist Leopold Landau and his wife Johanna, née Jakoby. Marianne and Edmund Landau had four children - Herbert, born on December 16, 1905 in Berlin - died on March 4, 1910 in Göttingen, Charlotte, born on March 12, 1907 in Berlin, married to Isaac Jacob Schoenberg, died on July 2, 1949 in Swarthmore. Susanne, born on November 4, 1908 in Frankfurt am Main, married to Christoph von Schüching, died on September 24, 1982 in the USA, Matthias Arthur Georg, born on September 14, 1911 in Göttingen, died on August 27, 1991 in Germany. Marianne Landau died on May 12, 1963 in Zürich and found her final resting place in Frankfurt am Main.
