Apartment of the Fritz Nathan Ansbacher family (forced committal) and other Jews

From 10.02.1942 until 31.03./01.04.1942, the remaining family of Fritz Nathan Ansbacher lived there, the irony of fate would have it that the new apartment was only a few houses away from their former home "Seligenthaler Str. 38". The family consisted of the following members: Fritz Nathan Ansbacher (father), Selma Ansbacher (mother) Elsa Sophie Ansbacher (daughter) Wilhelm Ansbacher (son), Max Ansbacher (son). The parents as well as the sister Elsa Sophie Ansbacher and two friends of the family (Elsa Kohn and Rosa Hahn) committed suicide in the night from March 31 to April 1, 1942.1942 (sleeping pills and gas poisoning), the two sons Max and Wilhelm Ansbacher, who did not want to commit suicide, were deported to a concentration camp shortly afterwards and died in the course of 1942.

Only the third son Siegfried Ansbacher survived by emigrating to the USA. He had rarely been in Landshut (only for visits) since 1932 (when he left Leutershausen) due to his professional training. Unfortunately, he was unable to bring his parents and siblings to the USA.
