Guggenheim & Co. founded by Hermann Guggenheim was one of the earliest publishers of picture postcards in Switzerland, active from 1893 to around 1940. Hermann Guggenheim traveled to tourist destinations in Switzerland, Italy, France and Belgium to procure the images for his publishing house and, as a lithographer and illustrator, designed them into sophisticated and varied picture postcards of all kinds. After Hermann Guggenheim's death in 1912, the two younger brothers Markus (1872–1940) and Emil (1877–1976) continued the business as Guggenheim & Co. The company was dissolved in 1945.
