Michael Goldstein was born on January 1, 1850 in Bad Kissingen. He married Albertine Goldstein, née Bass, born on January 29, 1862 in Fürth, on May 13, 1884 in Munich. The couple had two children - Else, born on October 19, 1886 in Bad Kissingen and Otto, born on July 19, 1889 in Bad Kissingen. Michael Goldstein ran a respected ready-to-wear clothing business in Bad Kissingen and bore the title "Royal Bavarian Purveyor to the Court". In 1874 he became a partner in Martin Goldstein, Konfektions-, Tuch- und Bukskinhandlung " founded by his brother Martin Goldstein in Göppingen in 1871, which was dissolved in 1881. Michael Goldstein died in Bayreuth on December 25, 1899. From there, his widow successfully continued the business at the Kurgarten until January 1, 1932, when she gave up her business completely and moved to Munich. Albertine Goldstein died in Munich on February 26, 1937. Else Goldstein married the pediatrician Dr. Max Hönigsberger. In April 1939, the couple emigrated to Edinburgh. Otto Goldstein, a successful and respected businessman in Bad Kissingen for many years, voluntarily retired on August 23, 1933 due to the most serious accusations and discrimination.
