The Jewish doctor Dr. Glaser (born 1889) worked as a civil servant in Stettin until 1933. He was forced to retire due to the "Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service" and moved to Ueckermünde. By the „Fourth Ordinance to the Reich Citizens Act“ of July 25, 1938, he and all other doctors of Jewish origin were stripped of their license to practice medicine. He was allowed to continue practising his profession under the title of „Krankenbehandler“, but only for the treatment of Jewish citizens.

In 1943, Hans Glaser fell acutely ill and was admitted to hospital for treatment for emphysema. At a certain point, the SS refused to allow him to continue treatment and stay in hospital. His wife Elisabeth had to transport him home in a handcart. He died there after a short time on 18.9.1943.

Elisabeth 'Lilly' Glaser née Tilsen (born 1888) survived the Nazi regime with help, humiliated and disenfranchised.

Son Horst Glaser (born 1919) was arrested and had to do forced labor in a mine. He was liberated in 1954.

Daughter Ruth Glaser (born 1920) managed to emigrate to England in 1939.
