He lived last in&nbsp;Essen. In 1933 he was imprisoned in the&nbsp;forced labor camp Torgau&nbsp;. He fled to&nbsp;Belgium&nbsp;and was deported there to the&nbsp;internment camp&nbsp;Saint Cyprien&nbsp;on May 10-15, 1940. He was then taken to the&nbsp;Drancy collection camp&nbsp;and deported to the Auschwitz extermination camp on August 10, 1942.</p>
